INDIA'S KABADDI TEAMS WIN WORLD CUP AGAIN:BUT ARE WE RECOGNIZING THEIR MASSIVE ACHIEVEMENTS?

INDIAN KABADDI TEAMS CREATE HISTORY AGAIN!!!!!

  • The Indian men's team continued their winning streak by clinching 5th Kabaddi World Cup title,While the women's side bagged the crown for the 4th consecutive time in the event that took place form December 7th-20th.
  • The Indian Men's team defeated Pakistan In the Final whereas the Indian Women's team defeated NewZeland in the Final.

Indian Men's Team
Indain Women's Team

MY OPINION:

  • First of all how many knew that the Kabbadi World Cup was going on?
  • How many people know that India are 5 time World champions(Men) and 4 time World champions(Women) ?
  • These Kabaddi players are winning title after title but I somehow feel that their domination in the game of Kabaddi has not been given the deserved recognition so far by their own country men.
  • India has been the dominant force for quite sometime now and no other nation has come close to challenging our supremacy except for Pakistan and Iran on very few  occasions.
  • India,no doubt is a cricket crazy country but people are beginning to enjoy the success of our sports persons in various other sports like Tennis,Boxing,Badminton,Shooting etc.
  • Kabaddi World cup did not get the publicity it deserved and many are not aware that a massive tournament is going on in which India displayed outright domination once again.
  • These players don't get rewarded that highly when compared with other sports persons in this country.
  • I feel winning the world cup in any sport is a massive achievement and to do it time after time takes tremendous skill and our Indians have displayed that great spirit.
  • It's time that our people, authorities recognize  their great victories and  give them sufficient encouragement and recognition ,which they truly deserve, atleast in the coming future.

QUOTE OF THE DAY….!!

                                                                                                          -  Peter Drucker
.........................................................................................................

The names of all the continents end with the same letter that they start with.

The elephant is the only mammal  that can't jump!

The word "checkmate" in chess comes from the Persian phrase "Shah-Mat," which means the king is dead.

If a statue in the park of a person on a horse has both front legs in the air, the person died in battle; if the horse has one front leg in the air, the person died as a result of wounds received in battle; if the horse has all four legs on the ground, the person died of natural causes.

Hummingbirds are the only birds that can fly backwards.

The word “OK” was coined by Charles Gordon Greene in 1839 in the “Boston Morning Post.” He used OK as a joking abbreviation for “Oll Korrect” in a satirical article about grammar. The editorial joke went viral, bringing the word into common usage.

The word vaccine comes from the Latin word "vacca," which means cow. This name was chosen because the first vaccination was derived from cowpox which was given to a boy.

The word “Rupee” for Indian currency is derived from the Sanskrit word Rupya which means “wrought sliver.” The word for Indonesian currency “Rupiah” also has the same origin.

RELEASE IROM SHARMILA:AMNESTY APPEALS

                                         IROM "IRON" SHARMILA

Amidst a move by Central Government to decriminalize attempt to suicide,International human rights body AMNESTY appealed to the government to release Manipur's "Iron Lady" Irom Sharmila immediately and unconditionally.

What is Amnesty?

  • Amnesty International is a global movement which campaigns for a world where human rights are enjoyed by all.

42-year-old civil rights activist Sharmila has been held in detention in Manipur for over 14 years on repeated charges of attempted suicide. She has been on a hunger strike since November 2000 demanding the repeal of the Armed Forces (Special Powers) Act (AFSPA).

MY OPINION:

  • On 10-12-2014,India's minister for Home Affairs stated that the central Government had decided to repeal section 309 of the Indian Penal Code(IPC),which makes attempting to commit suicide punishable with imprisonment for up to one year.Of course there are mixed reactions on this decision by the government but at the end of we all have to accept it.
  • But the scenario is  different in Irom Sharmila's case. She has been on Hunger Strike since 14 years and she was arrested on charges that she was attempting suicide. She was released several times and was arrested again.
  • She was on hunger strike all these years for a cause and the government without looking into her demands has kept on arresting her on various charges.
  • Irom Sharmila's determination, persistence should be applauded and I feel it's time people take notice of her relentless struggle.
  • I totally support the appeal made by Amnesty to the Government to release Irom Sharmila  immediately and unconditionally.
  • I personally feel that she should be released and her relentless struggle should be rewarded by fulfilling her demands.
  • It's really great that Amnesty has come forward in support of her and  we all should stand up and

SALUTE THIS LADY FOR RELENTLESS STRUGGLE,RATHER THAN PUTTING HER BEHIND BARS!!!!

PESHAWAR MASSACRE!!!

                                   INNOCENT LIVES TAKEN AWAY!!!!!!!!

  • Taliban gunmen stormed a military-run school in the northwestern Pakistani city of Peshawar on 16-12-2014,killing 141(132 innocent children,9 staff).
  • World Leaders condemned the ghastly attack on children.

MY OPINION:

  • I feel the attack on a school in Peshawar by Taliban is an act of cowardice because they have taken away many innocent lives.
  •                  What did those Young Children do to get killed such brutally?
  •                                       Is it such a big crime to go to school?
  • My heart feels for the families of these young children who lost their dear ones.

TALIBAN STATEMENT:

  • Claiming responsibility for the attack,TTP spokesman Muhammad Khorasani said in a statement sent to the media, that the Taliban were forced to attack the school because of operation Zarb-e-Azb and operation Khyber-I."We claim responsibility. We want the army to to feel our pain because they target our families",Khorasani boasted.

MY QUESTION:

  • If you have got any problems with the army operations ,you should fight them but you should not have killed so many young children.
  •                   Would your own family members support such heinous attack on young children?

  •                     I definitely don't think so.

  • When attacks like these happen ,I wonder, how safe are people in Pakistan?because we see these bomb attacks, suicide bombers, gun attacks regularly in Pakistan posing greatest threat to law and order.
  • It's high time that the Pakistan Government takes stringent measures to curb this terrorism otherwise Pakistan,in future will have more terrorists than people. And the world also should monitor  these terrorists activities so that they do not cause irrepairable  damage to the society.

YESTERDAY IT WAS SYDNEY.TODAY IT WAS  PESHAWAR.

WHAT IS THEIR NEXT TARGET?

  • Every nation should  take proper incentives so that these incidents do not happen in future.
  • The Indian government should also increase the security at schools, colleges, public places to ensure  our people do not fall prey to such brutal attacks.

4)V.S.Naipaul                                    2007                              Literature

KAILASH SATYARTHI:-

  • Kailash Satyarthi is an Indian child right's advocate and an activist against child labour. He is the founder of the movement BACHPAN BACHAO ANDOLAN(SAVE CHILDHOOD MOVEMENT) which he founded in 1980 and that movement was instrumental in protecting about 83,000 children across 144 countries.
  • Frankly speaking I did not know about him and his relentless struggle till the Nobel Peace Prize was conferred on him this year.
  • His struggle  to free children from bondage is definitely laudable and the people took notice of it and have rewarded him.
  • It has been 34 years since he had started this movement and he still has the same desire and passion which speaks volumes of his dedication.
  • His acceptance speech was very good and  the sentence "I represent here the sound of silence. The cry of innocence. And, the face of invisibility.I have come here to share the voices and dreams of our children, our children, because they are all our children". was very true and at the same time was heart touching.
  • As Mr.Satyarthi told it is very important to send the children of this world to schools rather than to work places and at the same time no child should not be deprived of his/her childhood.
  • The Government should formulate proper laws so as to see that every child receives proper education and people who employ children as labour  should be punished severely.
  • Sir, your contribution to the children of this world is admirable and I feel everybody should join their hands to eliminate such evils form the society.

Sir,you have made every Indian proud and we salute you for the good work that you have done for all these years amidst many difficult situations and wishing you would continue the good work in the future also.

                     Sir,India salutes you!!!!!!!!!

BRAVE SOLDIERS OF INDIA!!!!!!!!!

                                            TERRORISM STRIKES AGAIN!

Jammu and Kashmir witnessed a bloody and black Friday(05-12-2014) with terrorists stepping up attacks across the valley, just 4 days before polling is scheduled to be held for the third phase in the five- phased Legislative assembly elections in 16 constituencies of Jammu and Kashmir, where a high voter turnout was witnessed in the first two phases.13 were killed in the brutal terror attacks which included 8 Army personnel,3 Policemen.

8 Army men namely:

                                    Lt Col Sankalp Kumar,
                                     Hav Subhash Chand,
                                     L/Nk Gurmail Singhof 24 Punjab,
                                     Nk Panna Lal,
                                     GNR Manpreet Singh,
                                     DMT Kuldeep Kumar,
                                     GNR Satnam Singh,
L/Nk Sukhwinder Singh of 31 Field Regiment lost their lives in the Gun Battle.

"125 crore Indians bow to our brave Army men who sacrificed their lives. These men lived & died for the nation. We won't forget them,"
                                                                            -Prime Minister Narendra  Modi.

MY OPINION:

How many times  have we seen this????

  •              Our Brave Army Men sacrificing their lives for the sake of the country time and time again  and the politicians come out and say "We Salute Them"!!!.Who want's that??????Put an end to this non-sense.

"There is no point thanking them, we need to save them".

  • If there are political issues with pakistan  regarding the Kashmir issue,

the Government should tackle such issues. In the last 6 months there have been many Ceasefire Violations and many of our soldiers and people living in border areas have lost their lives.
  •  My appeal to all the Politicians,"Sir, we live in "peace" because of our soldiers and when we see them sacrificing their precious lives for "mere" Political reasons, it is really disgusting and their families can never live in peace".
  • For God sake take  appropriate measures  to see that their sacrifice does not go in vain and incidents like these do not happen in future.
  •                          I salute to all the Parents  of these Brave Men for giving birth to such great souls.
"Mothers of these brave men sacrificed their dear ones for the safety of the dear ones of all the mothers across the country".

THANK YOU!!   THANK YOU!!   WE SALUTE YOU!!!!

FOR SACRIFICING YOUR TODAY FOR OUR TOMORROW!!!

IS CRICKET STILL A GENTLEMAN'S GAME????

                                                  CLEAN UP CRICKET!!!!!!
MY OPINION:

  • I am a huge fan of Cricket as most Indian's are and it is the game that I loved the most form my childhood.
  • But where is the "Gentleman's game" Heading now??? Can it still be called a Gentleman's Game????
  • Well with all these Match fixings and Betting scams both at International level and the club level the reputation of the game has taken a severe beating.
  • Keeping  aside the other issues that are causing damage to the reputation to the game,In this post I would like to express my views on the role played by the Indian Premier League(IPL).
Role of IPL:

  • No doubt IPL has thrown a lot of young talent but to what extent is it  justified when there are too many illegal activities(Fixing,Betting)  that are taking front seat in the name of IPL causing damage to Indian Cricket???
  • Can a Cricket fan be assured that he is watching a transparent game??

                                I doubt it.
  • When it comes to the IPL governance, there are too many people who are seeing IPL as a Money fetching league rather than Talent finding league. And if that  is the case the whole purpose of this league is lost.Isn't it?
  • With the recent Betting scam which came into light involving some "big" names of Indian Cricket  the entire corruption issue has come out from the blue, exposing the BCCI infront of the apex court of India.
  • Three Teams namely Sahara Pune Warriors,Kochi Tuskers Kerala,Deccan Chargers were thrown out for not paying money in time and if they were thrown out for only that reason,I feel it's time Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals  are also thrown out because there are way too many allegations against both these teams.
  • Since Chennai Team is owned by a BCCI President,it is getting away and the person who is in the midst of all this drama refuses to quit even after the Supreme court questions his role (i.e.,CONFLICT OF INTEREST) .
  • And coming to the players who are  involved in this scam, they need to be punished severely no matter how "big" the player is.
  • And I honestly feel that if the Indian players are found guilty they should not be spared because they are paid heavily and also with all the Endorsements they have to go with the popularity, there is no need for them to go for extra money via unlawful ways.
  • The IPL since it's inception has been controversial for many reasons and it's high time we abolish corruption or scrap the entire thing once it for all.
Restoring the faith among Indian community is of paramount importance and I wish the SUPREME COURT takes notice of this and comes out with the right solution.
No doubt the reputation of the game has gone down thanks to these "SCAMS" but I still feel the game of Cricket can be termed as a GENTLEMAN'S GAME provided the mess surrounding it in all aspects is cleared once it for all .

                                         CLEAN UP CRICKET!!!!!!!!!

AS AN ARDENT FOLLOWER OF INDIAN CRICKET  I WISH  THE GAME  OF CRICKET BE CALLED AS A GENTLEMAN'S GAME EVEN BY OUR FUTURE GENERATIONS!!!!!!

MANGALYAAN :INDIA'S SUCCESS STORY OF 2014

MANGALYAAN AMONG BEST INVENTIONS OF 2014:TIME MAGAZINE

Mangalyaan, before it's launch.
  • Mangalyaan is among the 25 'Best Inventions of 2014' listed by Time Magazine that are "making the world better and smarter".
  • Mangalyaan has been named among the best inventions of 2014 by Time Magazine which described it as a technological feat that will allow India to flex it's "Interplanetary Muscles".
  • "Nobody gets Mars right on the first try.The US didn't,Russia didn't,the Europeans didn't.But on September 24,2014 India did. That's when the Mangalyaan went into orbit around the Red Planet,a technological feat no other Asian nation has yet achieved,"Time said about Mangalyaan, calling it "The Supersmart Aircraft".
  • Developed by the Indian Space Research Organisation(ISRO) ,the Mars Aircraft cost India just US $74 million ,less than the budget for the Multi-Academy Award Winning science Fiction thriller film "GRAVITY"
MY OPINION:

  •  It's a great achievement by our scientists. Every scientist who is associated with Mangalyaan deserves this credit.
  • ISRO people have made every Indian proud and in doing so they showed the world that India has the capacity to compete with the other nations in the field of Space Research.
  • I feel this is only the beginning of many great things that we are going to achieve  in the future.

SALUTE OUR SCIENTISTS,WHO HAVE MADE EVERY INDIAN PROUD!!!!!

TENNIS LEAGUE!!!

              CHAMPIONS TENNIS LEAGUE

  MY OPINION:
Friends,
We have seen the emergence of many leagues in India in recent years like the Indian Premier League(Cricket),Pro Kabaddi league,Indian Super League(Football). Now another league is going to join them i.e, "Champions Tennis League" which is going to start from 17th November and is going continue till 26th November 2014.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE LEAGUE:

  • Number of Teams:6
  • Each team consists of 4 players.
  • The teams include Mumbai Tennis Masters,Hyderabad Aces,Bangalore Raptors,Pune Marathas,Delhi Dreams,Punjab Marshalls.
Prominent Foreign Players: This league may not have a Federer,Djokovic,Nadal (or) an Andy Murray playing in it but it has some great players both retired and current players. This league should reach such greater heights that the above mentioned TOP players should take part in it in the future. The prominent Players include:
                         Men                                                                Women

                Tommy Robredo                                                          Venus Williams
                 Marcos Baghdatis                                                        Martina Hingis
Pat cash                                                                      Jelena Jankovic                          Mark Philippoussis                                                       Agnieszka Radwanska
                Mikhail Youzhny
                Juan Carlos Ferrero
                Kevin Anderson
                Feliciano Lopez

Former Indian Tennis Player
VIJAY AMRITRAJ
  • The above mentioned leagues have become a great success and this league which is the idea of former Indian Tennis Player Vijay Amritraj should also become a huge success.
  • This League can go a long way in developing interest in the game of tennis amongst Indian Public even more than what it is now and I wish this league can become a great success and can help more youngsters to take up  the game of tennis in the nearby future.

ONE OF MODERN INDIA'S PROBLEMS!!

Problem in Discussion: "TOILETS"

MY OPINION:

  • According to a report nearly 13 percent  of the population in urban India defecate in the open. And in Delhi ,a cosmopolitan city and the  capital of our country, number of those defecating in open as they don’t have a toilet is very high.
  • If that is the case  in Delhi, then imagine the situation in rural parts of the country.Definitely it's an alarming situation which needs to be addressed very quickly.
  • And the irony is that in majority of the places the existing toilets are under repair and are left without any proper  maintenance.
  •  Basic Issues like these need to be sorted out by our leaders and when it comes to leaders our Prime Minister  Narendra Modi has promised that 100 million toilets will be built across the country in the near future.
  • I hope our PM's statement will soon become a reality for the sake of our people and in a sense if it becomes a reality it also adds to the"clean India campaign " that has been initiated to make India clean.
NOTE:This is my opinion and comments will definitely be welcomed....

MY OPINION:
