IS CRICKET STILL A GENTLEMAN'S GAME????

                                                  CLEAN UP CRICKET!!!!!!
MY OPINION:

  • I am a huge fan of Cricket as most Indian's are and it is the game that I loved the most form my childhood.
  • But where is the "Gentleman's game" Heading now??? Can it still be called a Gentleman's Game????
  • Well with all these Match fixings and Betting scams both at International level and the club level the reputation of the game has taken a severe beating.
  • Keeping  aside the other issues that are causing damage to the reputation to the game,In this post I would like to express my views on the role played by the Indian Premier League(IPL).
Role of IPL:

  • No doubt IPL has thrown a lot of young talent but to what extent is it  justified when there are too many illegal activities(Fixing,Betting)  that are taking front seat in the name of IPL causing damage to Indian Cricket???
  • Can a Cricket fan be assured that he is watching a transparent game??

                                I doubt it.
  • When it comes to the IPL governance, there are too many people who are seeing IPL as a Money fetching league rather than Talent finding league. And if that  is the case the whole purpose of this league is lost.Isn't it?
  • With the recent Betting scam which came into light involving some "big" names of Indian Cricket  the entire corruption issue has come out from the blue, exposing the BCCI infront of the apex court of India.
  • Three Teams namely Sahara Pune Warriors,Kochi Tuskers Kerala,Deccan Chargers were thrown out for not paying money in time and if they were thrown out for only that reason,I feel it's time Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals  are also thrown out because there are way too many allegations against both these teams.
  • Since Chennai Team is owned by a BCCI President,it is getting away and the person who is in the midst of all this drama refuses to quit even after the Supreme court questions his role (i.e.,CONFLICT OF INTEREST) .
  • And coming to the players who are  involved in this scam, they need to be punished severely no matter how "big" the player is.
  • And I honestly feel that if the Indian players are found guilty they should not be spared because they are paid heavily and also with all the Endorsements they have to go with the popularity, there is no need for them to go for extra money via unlawful ways.
  • The IPL since it's inception has been controversial for many reasons and it's high time we abolish corruption or scrap the entire thing once it for all.
Restoring the faith among Indian community is of paramount importance and I wish the SUPREME COURT takes notice of this and comes out with the right solution.
No doubt the reputation of the game has gone down thanks to these "SCAMS" but I still feel the game of Cricket can be termed as a GENTLEMAN'S GAME provided the mess surrounding it in all aspects is cleared once it for all .

                                         CLEAN UP CRICKET!!!!!!!!!

AS AN ARDENT FOLLOWER OF INDIAN CRICKET  I WISH  THE GAME  OF CRICKET BE CALLED AS A GENTLEMAN'S GAME EVEN BY OUR FUTURE GENERATIONS!!!!!!

MANGALYAAN :INDIA'S SUCCESS STORY OF 2014

MANGALYAAN AMONG BEST INVENTIONS OF 2014:TIME MAGAZINE

Mangalyaan, before it's launch.
  • Mangalyaan is among the 25 'Best Inventions of 2014' listed by Time Magazine that are "making the world better and smarter".
  • Mangalyaan has been named among the best inventions of 2014 by Time Magazine which described it as a technological feat that will allow India to flex it's "Interplanetary Muscles".
  • "Nobody gets Mars right on the first try.The US didn't,Russia didn't,the Europeans didn't.But on September 24,2014 India did. That's when the Mangalyaan went into orbit around the Red Planet,a technological feat no other Asian nation has yet achieved,"Time said about Mangalyaan, calling it "The Supersmart Aircraft".
  • Developed by the Indian Space Research Organisation(ISRO) ,the Mars Aircraft cost India just US $74 million ,less than the budget for the Multi-Academy Award Winning science Fiction thriller film "GRAVITY"
MY OPINION:

  •  It's a great achievement by our scientists. Every scientist who is associated with Mangalyaan deserves this credit.
  • ISRO people have made every Indian proud and in doing so they showed the world that India has the capacity to compete with the other nations in the field of Space Research.
  • I feel this is only the beginning of many great things that we are going to achieve  in the future.

SALUTE OUR SCIENTISTS,WHO HAVE MADE EVERY INDIAN PROUD!!!!!

              CHAMPIONS TENNIS LEAGUE

  MY OPINION:

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE LEAGUE:

  • Number of Teams:6
  • Each team consists of 4 players.
  • The teams include Mumbai Tennis Masters,Hyderabad Aces,Bangalore Raptors,Pune Marathas,Delhi Dreams,Punjab Marshalls.
Prominent Foreign Players: This league may not have a Federer,Djokovic,Nadal (or) an Andy Murray playing in it but it has some great players both retired and current players. This league should reach such greater heights that the above mentioned TOP players should take part in it in the future. The prominent Players include:
                         Men                                                                Women

                Tommy Robredo                                                          Venus Williams
                 Marcos Baghdatis                                                        Martina Hingis
Pat cash                                                                      Jelena Jankovic                          Mark Philippoussis                                                       Agnieszka Radwanska
                Mikhail Youzhny
                Juan Carlos Ferrero
                Kevin Anderson
                Feliciano Lopez

Former Indian Tennis Player
VIJAY AMRITRAJ
  • The above mentioned leagues have become a great success and this league which is the idea of former Indian Tennis Player Vijay Amritraj should also become a huge success.
  • This League can go a long way in developing interest in the game of tennis amongst Indian Public even more than what it is now and I wish this league can become a great success and can help more youngsters to take up  the game of tennis in the nearby future.

ONE OF MODERN INDIA'S PROBLEMS!!

Problem in Discussion: "TOILETS"

MY OPINION:

  • According to a report nearly 13 percent  of the population in urban India defecate in the open. And in Delhi ,a cosmopolitan city and the  capital of our country, number of those defecating in open as they don’t have a toilet is very high.
  • If that is the case  in Delhi, then imagine the situation in rural parts of the country.Definitely it's an alarming situation which needs to be addressed very quickly.
  • And the irony is that in majority of the places the existing toilets are under repair and are left without any proper  maintenance.
  •  Basic Issues like these need to be sorted out by our leaders and when it comes to leaders our Prime Minister  Narendra Modi has promised that 100 million toilets will be built across the country in the near future.
  • I hope our PM's statement will soon become a reality for the sake of our people and in a sense if it becomes a reality it also adds to the"clean India campaign " that has been initiated to make India clean.
NOTE:This is my opinion and comments will definitely be welcomed....

INTERESTING THINGS ABOUT INDIAN FLAG!!!

TRICOLOUR FLAG:PRIDE OF 1.2 BILLION INDIANS!!!!
MY OPINION:

We all respect our national flag and here is the story how our national flag has evolved  over the years.

1. Our national flag as we know today was not adopted until 1947. Here is how our flag evolved:

The first national flag in India is said to have been hoisted on August 7, 1906, in the Parsee Bagan Square (Green Park) in Calcutta now Kolkata.

The second flag was hoisted in Paris by Madame Cama and her band of exiled revolutionaries in 1907.

The third flag went up in 1917 when our political struggle had taken a definite turn. Dr. Annie Besant and Lokmanya Tilak hoisted it during the Home rule movement.

During the session of the All India Congress Committee which met at Bezwada in 1921 (now Vijayawada) Pingali Venkayya prepared a flag and took it to Gandhiji. It was made up of two colours-red and green-representing the two major communities i.e. Hindus and Muslims. Gandhiji suggested the addition of a white strip to represent the remaining communities of India and the spinning wheel to symbolise progress of the Nation.
The year 1931 was a landmark in the history of the flag. A resolution was passed adopting a tricolor flag as our national flag. This flag, the forbear of the present one, was saffron, white and green with Mahatma Gandhi’s spinning wheel at the center. It was, however, clearly stated that it bore no communal significance and was to be interpreted thus.
On July 22, 1947, the Constituent Assembly adopted it as Free India National Flag. After the advent of Independence, the colours and their significance remained the same. Only the Dharma Charkha of Emperor Asoka was adopted in place of the spinning wheel as the emblem on the flag. Thus, the tricolour flag of the Congress Party eventually became the tricolour flag of Independent India.
2. Karnataka Khadi Gramodyoga Samyukta Sangha based in Hubli is the only licenced flag production and supply unit in India.
3.The Indian national flag was hoisted on Mt. Everest, the highest peak in the world, on May 29 1953, along with the Union Jack and the Nepalese National flag.
4. In 1971, the Indian flag, went into space on board Apollo-15. It flew into space as a medallion on the spacesuit worn by Cosmonaut Wing Commander Rakesh Sharma, during the Indo-Soviet joint space flight in April 1984.
